How Do I

Anchor  Get a Library Card

To sign up for a card, visit any Saskatchewan Public Library and ask a staff member at the Circulation Desk to assist you.

Adults and Young Adults (ages 14+) must show two pieces of identification, one establishing their current address and a second piece that verifies identity.

Children (under 14 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must show two pieces of identification, one establishing his or her current Saskatchewan address and a second piece that verifies identity. These documents will be used to register the child. The parent or legal guardian will need to sign the child’s Library card. The signer assumes responsibility for any Library charges incurred by the child.

Borrowers are responsible for all materials borrowed on their card and any charges, including fines and replacement costs, resulting from the late return, damage or loss of materials. Any fees owing must be paid prior to annual Library card renewal.

Anchor Get a PIN (Personal Identification Number)
Library staff will also register a four-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number) on your Library account. A PIN is required to access your Southeast Regional Library account from electronic devices with internet access. By having a PIN, you can find out what materials you have checked out, what may be overdue and what materials you’ve requested. You are also able to renew items you currently have checked out!

Forgot your PIN?  Visit any Branch or any other Saskatchewan Public Library and speak to a staff member at the Circulation Desk. You’ll need to show them your Library card along with one other piece of ID so your PIN can be changed.  You can also click here to get your password emailed to you.

Please remember: Your Library card is like a credit card and your contact information needs to be kept up-to-date. Let us know if your address or phone number changes by contacting any Branch or calling 306-848-3100.

Anchor Renew an Item

Anchor Replace a Lost or Stolen Card
It is important to let us know immediately if your card has been lost or stolen. Contact us by calling any Southeast Regional Library branch or (306) 848-3100. There is a $3.00 charge for a replacement card.

Anchor Borrow Items from the Library
Your library card may be used at any Saskatchewan Public Library location and is required for all library transactions. You may have up to 100 items checked out on your card at any time. High demand items, such as DVDs, CDs, have limits on the number that may be borrowed at any one time. You can return items that you borrow from other systems to any other public library in Saskatchewan.

Most items have a 21 day loan period. Some items, such as DVDs and video games, have a 7 day loan period. Transaction receipts, which show materials checked out and their due date, are given to all patrons when they check out materials.

Important Note: The borrower is responsible for all material checked out on a Southeast Regional Library card, and will be required to pay for the cost of repairing or replacing material lost or damaged while on loan to the borrower. Southeast Regional Library is not responsible for any damage or loss to persons or property sustained as a result of using Southeast Regional Library material.

Anchor Request an Item
You may have up to 50 requests on your card at a given time.

Login to My Account. Once you are logged on you can perform a catalogue search for an item and request a hold be placed on it.

You may present your Library card at any branch or Saskatchewan Public Library and Library staff will place your request.

You will be notified when the item becomes available for pick-up.

Having Problems: Check and make sure that you are entering your barcode and PIN correctly. Next, ensure that the item you wish to request is, in fact, requestable. Reference items, selected resources and some literacy items cannot be requested.
